Silvia Pérez Cruz to perform free concert in Havana
Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz will perform a free concert this Sunday at the Renaissance church of San Francisco el Nuevo in Old Havana. The event comes as Cuba faces a severe crisis, including power outages that can last over 20 hours.
Pérez Cruz described the performance as “the most important concert of the tour,” viewing the visit as an “act of love” and a way to connect with the people of the island through music. The concert follows her recent performance in Los Angeles and is part of a larger tour that includes stops in Mexico City, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
Accompanied by musicians Bori Alberto, Marta Roma, and Carlos Monfort, the singer will perform tracks from her latest studio album, ‘Oral_Abisal,’ alongside other symbolic pieces from her discography. Her musical style spans flamenco, Latin American songs, jazz, bossa nova, and fado.
