Silvio Baldini criticizes Italian football executives
Silvio Baldini, the coach of the Italian Under-21 national team, has criticized the management of Italian football, stating that the primary obstacle to the growth of young talent is the leadership rather than the players themselves.
Speaking at the Scopigno and Pulici awards ceremony held at the CONI Hall in Rome, Baldini argued that football executives prioritize economic gain and visibility over the development of young athletes. He asserted that the current organizational model lacks the necessary responsibility and conscience to properly value the 'raw material' of talent.
During the same event, Frosinone coach Massimiliano Alvini defended the quality of the Italian league, noting that while talented young players are present, they require more consistent playing time to reach their potential. Baldini also praised Maurizio Viscidi for his significant contributions to the development of the Italian youth sector.
