Silvio Zanon, former AC Reggiana player, dies at 82

Silvio Zanon, a prominent former footballer and historical figure for AC Reggiana, has passed away at the age of 82. Zanon played for the club from 1967 to 1974, making 190 appearances and scoring 9 goals. He was a key part of the squad that won the Serie C championship and earned promotion to Serie B during the 1970/71 season.

Throughout his professional career, Zanon played for several Italian clubs, including Catania, Modena, Cremonese, Ancona, and Bolzano, totaling 262 Serie B appearances and 144 Serie C appearances. After retiring from professional football, he remained a resident of Reggio Emilia and participated in amateur leagues with local clubs like Risorgimento.

AC Reggiana expressed deep mourning for the loss of a player who became a beloved figure among fans. His former teammate, Claudio Ciceri, also honored him, describing him as an immense player and a great friend.
