Silvius Cornean joins USR and becomes president of Băile Herculane branch

Silvius Cornean has officially joined the USR party and has been elected president of the newly formed local organization in Băile Herculane. Cornean previously served as a vice president for the AUR party branch.

Cornean stated that his departure from AUR followed allegations of political negotiations where the party reportedly attempted to facilitate a transfer involving the PSD and the vice-mayor of Băile Herculane, Marius Nicoară. He noted that while he had joined AUR due to various influences, he has always felt more aligned with USR politics.

Cornean has announced his intention to run for the Mayor of Băile Herculane in the 2028 elections. He cited his collaboration with USR deputy Andrei Plujar and his commitment to the development and rebirth of the resort as primary motivations for his move to USR.
