SIM Carabinieri holds successful digital investigations conference in Reggio Emilia

The SIM Carabinieri (Italian Military Union) organized a conference titled “Investigazioni nel campo informatico” in Reggio Emilia, held at the Hotel Astoria. The event attracted a large audience of union members, forensic experts, justice professionals and police representatives.

Speakers presented on advanced digital forensic procedures, recent legal developments and best practices for seizing and analysing electronic evidence. Key presentations were given by Dr. Giuseppe Milano, head of the SIM Carabinieri legal affairs department, Dr. Giuseppe Basile, provincial secretary, Dr. Simone Gardella, technical consultant, and Dr. Cristian Gandolfi, who discussed cutting‑edge analytical software. The sessions were moderated by Dr. Maurizio Pallante, regional secretary.

National secretaries Dino Caputo and Antonio Pirisi, together with board member Massimiliano Sottili, attended the closing ceremony where participants received certificates. Organisers highlighted the growing importance of digital security and forensic evidence for criminal investigations and the need for continuous training of law‑enforcement personnel.
