Sim Racing initiative introduces driving simulators to schools

The 'Sim Racing at School' project, sponsored by the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI), is utilizing professional driving simulators as educational tools to teach STEM subjects. Launched at the Collegio Villoresi in Monza, the initiative aims to transform theoretical concepts in mathematics and physics—such as acceleration, velocity, and braking dynamics—into practical, engaging experiences for students.

The professional simulators feature multi-screen configurations, GT-inspired steering wheels, and advanced haptic feedback systems, including load-cell pedals and seat vibrators, to replicate real racing sensations. Cristiano Martelli, president of the ACI E-Sport Commission, has expressed ambition to extend this educational model to public schools.

In Sardinia, a new entity called RepliRacing is preparing to debut in Cagliari, focusing on driving simulation, training, and eSports, further expanding the reach of sim racing as both a competitive discipline and an educational resource.
