Simbe surpasses 3,000 autonomous units in retail shelf intelligence fleet

Simbe has announced that it has surpassed 3,000 autonomous units under contract, which the company identifies as the largest commercially committed fleet of shelf intelligence technology. Over the past decade, the creator of the Tally inventory robot has transitioned from simple shelf digitization to developing a comprehensive platform for physical stores.

The company utilizes a combination of autonomous robots, computer vision, RFID, and various sensing technologies to monitor retail environments. This system captures data regarding inventory availability, product location, pricing, promotions, and merchandising conditions.

Simbe currently serves more than 75 retail banners globally, including SPAR, Kroger, and BJ’s Wholesale Club. The company also holds the UL 3300 certification for robots designed to operate in public spaces.
