Simbio employees return 2,000 euros found in medical waste

Two employees of the Celje-based company Simbio, Jan Peternel and Gašper Mansutti, discovered 2,000 euros in cash while collecting hazardous medical waste. After finding the money inside a box of medicinal waste, they worked with colleague Marko Završek to identify the owner.

The funds belonged to an elderly farmer from the Kozjansko region, who had lost the money earlier this year following the sale of an ox. The farmer had searched his home extensively for the cash without success. Upon being contacted by Simbio, the farmer initially believed it was a joke but later visited the company headquarters to personally receive the returned funds. The money is intended to help him renovate his aging farm.
