Simeri Crichi authorities seize area for illegal waste and unauthorized business

Authorities in Simeri Crichi, located in the province of Catanzaro, have seized a private area used as an uncontrolled deposit for special, hazardous, and non-hazardous waste. The operation was conducted jointly by the local Carabinieri station and the Carabinieri Forestale Nucleo of Catanzaro.

During the inspection, investigators discovered an unauthorized car body shop operating on the site without the required environmental permits. In addition to the illegal waste management, officials found a dog without a microchip being held on the premises. The animal has been seized, and veterinary services will investigate its conditions of detention. The area remains under the control of the judicial authorities for further investigation into the nature of the waste and the management of the site.
