Simões Filho hosts 2026 Brazilian Cadet Judo Championship
The 2026 Brazilian Cadet Judo Championship is currently taking place in Simões Filho, Bahia. Organized by the Confederação Brasileira de Judô (CBJ) in partnership with the Federação Baiana de Judô (Febaju), the event features over 440 athletes representing 24 state federations.
For the first time, the tournament is being held over a three-day period. The first two days are dedicated to 16 individual categories, while the final day focuses on mixed team competitions. This championship serves as a critical final stage for athlete selection before the Brazilian National Team is called up for the World Championship scheduled for August in Ecuador.
The event is supported by the Government of Bahia through the Superintendência dos Desportos do Estado da Bahia (Sudesb). The Bahia delegation includes 21 judokas, some of whom are supported by the FazAtleta program.
