Simi Fehoko named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Simi Fehoko has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following a pivotal performance in the team's Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

During the fourth quarter at SoFi Stadium, Fehoko blocked a Chargers punt from their 19-yard line. This play allowed the Cardinals to take possession at the three-yard line, setting up a three-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jacoby Brissett to Trey McBride. The score extended Arizona's lead to 23-14 with 11:44 remaining in the game.

Fehoko, who recorded two tackles on special teams during the contest, became the only NFL player to block a punt in Week 1. This marks his first career selection for the award and the first for a Cardinals player since Blake Gillikin in 2024.
