Simineral Technical Congress Returns to Canaã dos Carajás for Fifth Edition

The fifth edition of the Simineral Technical Congress will be held in Canaã dos Carajás, Pará, Brazil on 5‑6 August 2026. Organized by the Sindicato das Indústrias Minerais do Estado do Pará (Simineral), the forum brings together mining experts, industry representatives, public officials and academics to discuss the future of mineral extraction in the Amazon region.

The congress theme, “Mining and the Amazon: competitiveness, responsibility and legacy,” will address regional development, critical and strategic minerals, the energy transition, environmental licensing, legal certainty, governance and the advances presented in the Carta Santarém. Anderson Baranov, president of Simineral’s Board of Directors, said the event “demonstrates the maturity of this dialogue space and strengthens discussion on the future of mining in the Amazon.”
