Siminina Program celebrates 29 years of social and cultural work in Cuiabá
The Siminina Program, a social, educational, and cultural initiative maintained by the Cuiabá City Hall, is celebrating its 29th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a special week of celebrations titled ‘Semana Siminina 2026’ is scheduled from August 10 to 14.
The program currently serves 1,342 girls and adolescents, providing pedagogical support, cultural activities, and social protection during after-school hours. Activities include ballet, choral singing, percussion bands, and traditional dances like siriri. Beyond cultural workshops, the program employs multidisciplinary teams to monitor family dynamics, identify socioeconomic needs, and protect participants from neglect or violence.
The anniversary events will take place at the program's coordination headquarters and SINDES/MT, featuring cultural presentations, photographic exhibitions, and testimonials from former participants who have transitioned through the program to new life opportunities.
