Simón Bolívar International Airport opens new national arrival terminal
Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía has inaugurated a new temporary national arrival terminal to manage increasing passenger volumes and separate domestic flows from international ones. The modular, tent-like structure covers more than 1,200 square meters and is designed to process over 1,600 passengers daily.
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez inspected the facilities, which include air conditioning, baggage claim belts, and specialized signage. The initiative aims to reduce congestion in main corridors and customs areas, providing a dedicated transit route for domestic travelers from the remote ramp to the parking area. This operational adjustment serves as a temporary measure to maintain service fluidity while traditional airport spaces undergo modernization.
