Simón Lizardo endorses Francisco Javier García for PLD presidential nomination

Simón Lizardo, a member of the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), has endorsed Francisco Javier García in his bid for the party’s presidential nomination. During a coordination meeting for García’s candidacy in Constituency I, Lizardo praised García’s contributions over the last two years, stating his efforts have helped strengthen the organization and position it as a competitive option for the 2028 elections.

Lizardo also commended former President Danilo Medina for defending the PLD during periods of political weakening. He noted that García’s leadership was vital at a time when some sectors believed the party was facing disappearance. According to Lizardo, this defense created the necessary conditions for party president Danilo Medina and secretary general Johnny Pujols to continue the organization’s internal strengthening. The PLD is scheduled to hold its internal process on October 18.
