Simno Gymnasium implements in-house school meal program

Simno Gymnasium has implemented a new school meal model where the institution prepares its own food rather than relying on external suppliers. This shift allows the school to create flexible menus, respond to student needs, and prioritize fresh products sourced directly from local farms.

Alytus District Mayor Rasa Vitkauskienė noted that the change was driven by a desire to ensure students have access to healthy, tasty, and home-like meals. By utilizing a short food supply chain, the school aims to guarantee product freshness and support local agriculture.
