Simo Bouaoud plans week-long vacation for GTA 6 release

Simo Bouaoud, a 38-year-old from Svinndal, Norway, has arranged a week-long vacation specifically to play the upcoming video game Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). Instead of traveling to a physical destination, Bouaoud intends to spend his time in the game's virtual setting, Vice City, which is inspired by Miami, Florida.

Bouaoud has already cleared his schedule with his employer, meat producer Finn Hunstad in Våler, notifying them two months in advance to ensure he is not contacted during his gaming week. He has pre-ordered the game and prepared his PlayStation 5 for the launch.

The game is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Bouaoud noted that the decision is driven by nostalgia, as it has been 13 years since the previous installment, and he plans to share the experience with his son.
