Simo Milošević Institute loses Norwegian rehabilitation tender to Tenerife

The Simo Milošević Institute in Igalo has lost the tender to host Norwegian patients for international rehabilitation starting next year. The contract was awarded to a health center on the island of Tenerife, Spain.

Institute Director Zoran Kovačević identified three primary reasons for the loss: the higher quality of accommodation facilities in Tenerife, the logistical ease of airport proximity, and Tenerife's status within the European Union's single market for healthcare. Kovačević noted that while the Institute outperformed competitors from Turkey, it could not match the Spanish facility's current capacity.

To regain competitiveness, the Institute plans to focus on renovating its facilities and improving transport connectivity. Kovačević expressed hope that Montenegro’s eventual accession to the EU will help the Institute integrate into the single European healthcare market and reduce border delays.
