Simon Lanoix and Julie Chatelain complete 8-year cross-Canada hike

Simon Lanoix and Julie Chatelain have completed an eight-year, 15,000-kilometre journey across Canada via the Trans Canada Trail. The couple, who began their trek in St. John’s, Newfoundland, in 2018, finished their journey at the Point Zero marker at Clover Point in Victoria, British Columbia.

The expedition was completed in stages to manage the immense distance and varying climates. The final leg involved traversing approximately 1,200 kilometres through British Columbia. Lanoix and Chatelain noted that the diverse landscapes and cultures encountered made the experience feel like walking through multiple different trails.
