Simon Levy convicted of double murder and rape in London

Simon Levy, 40, has been convicted at the Old Bailey of murdering Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39, as well as raping a third woman. The attacks occurred in London in 2025. The victims were targeted in sexually motivated attacks, with the murders involving suffocation. Levy was also found guilty of grievous bodily harm and non-fatal smothering.

The case has highlighted significant systemic failures within the Metropolitan Police, the British Transport Police, and the Crown Prosecution Service. Despite being a registered sex offender who had previously assaulted women on London's transport network, Levy was allowed to remain on bail as his crimes escalated. One survivor had provided information regarding his identity, yet a formal interview did not take place until after the two murders had occurred.

A victim of Levy's 2018 assault expressed devastation, stating that the failures of the criminal justice system allowed a known predator to continue preying on vulnerable women. Levy faces a potential whole-life order during his sentencing on Wednesday.
