Simon McKee sentenced for £25,000 fraud at WHP Telecoms

Simon McKee, a 41-year-old employee of Birchwood Park-based firm WHP Telecoms, has been sentenced at Warrington Magistrates’ Court following a fraud investigation. McKee was charged with two counts of fraud by abuse of position after misappropriating company resources totaling nearly £25,000.

The fraud involved the unauthorized use of a leased KGM Musso Saracen+ 4x4 pick-up truck and a business fuel card. McKee attempted to conceal the vehicle by requesting it be omitted from internal reports. The discrepancy was discovered in June 2025 when the leasing company, Enterprise, identified an issue with the vehicle and was unable to retrieve details from the company's fleet manager.

Additionally, an internal investigation revealed that a fuel card had been used to refuel various vehicles at a location near McKee’s residence between 2021 and June 2025, resulting in costs of £14,634. CCTV footage was obtained to confirm his use of the card. McKee pleaded guilty to the charges.
