Simon Ngapandouetnbu named Montpellier Player of the Month

Cameroon international goalkeeper Simon Ngapandouetnbu has been named Montpellier HSC’s Player of the Month for October 2026. The 23-year-old earned the award following a series of strong performances in Ligue 2, including three clean sheets in four matches during the month.

A standout performance occurred on October 31 against Annecy, where Ngapandouetnbu made nine saves to help secure a 3-0 victory. This display also earned him a spot in the Ligue 2 Team of the Week for Matchday 11. Through eleven matches, the goalkeeper has recorded seven clean sheets, contributing to Montpellier’s position near the top of the league standings.

While there has been speculation regarding a potential return to his former club, Olympique de Marseille, in 2027 due to a reported buy-back priority, Montpellier intends to retain the player. The club is reportedly interested in offering a contract extension to secure the goalkeeper, whose current deal runs until June 2028.
