Simon Pytlick and Flensburg in three‑way title fight for German handball championship
Rhein‑Neckar Löwen head coach Maik Machulla says SC Magdeburg is the clear favourite for the Bundesliga title, but expects a close three‑way contest with Füchse Berlin and SG Flensburg‑Handewitt. He highlighted Berlin’s loss of Lasse Andersson but praised Matthes Langhoff as one of the league’s most intriguing talents.
Machulla also noted that Flensburg remains a top contender despite a disappointing previous season, citing its ability to keep Danish star Simon Pytlick, as well as the contributions of Aymeric Minne and Emil Bergholt. He added that clubs such as VfL Gummersbach and TBV Lemgo Lippe will battle for European competition spots. The new season begins on 27 August, with Rhein‑Neckar Löwen opening away at TSV Hannover‑Burgdorf.
