Jürgen Klopp defends advisor's role at DFB amid criticism

New German national team coach Jürgen Klopp has defended the role of his long-time advisor, Mark Kosicke, within the German Football Association (DFB). The appointment drew criticism from Bayern Munich figure Uli Hoeneß, who described the situation as a ‘friendly takeover’ of the DFB by Klopp and his associates.

Klopp dismissed the criticism, stating that people are judging the arrangement before any results are visible. He emphasized that he has worked with Kosicke for 20 years and considers him an expert in specific areas necessary for the team's success. While Kosicke is not a formal DFB employee, DFB President Bernd Neuendorf confirmed he will have full access to the organization.

Separately, Florian Wirtz, who recently moved to FC Liverpool, discussed his first contact with Klopp via telephone. Wirtz also received public support from former Bayer Leverkusen executive Simon Rolfes following criticism from Jamie Carragher regarding his performance and market value in the Premier League.
