Simon Townshend joins Best of Blues and Rock 2026 lineup

British guitarist and singer Simon Townshend has been confirmed for the Best of Blues and Rock 2026 festival, taking place at Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, Brazil. Townshend is scheduled to perform solo sets on November 20 and 22, following a recommendation from his long-time musical partner, Eddie Vedder.

Townshend replaces Glen Hansard, the vocalist of The Frames, who passed away in July following a motorcycle accident. In addition to his solo performances, Townshend will join Roger Daltrey’s backing band on November 21.

The festival lineup also includes Chris Isaak, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Samuel Rosa, Artur Menezes, and Vitor Kley. Tickets for the November 20 and 22 dates are reported as sold out.
