Simon Wright releases archive of 1990s Perth rave design

Designer Simon Wright has released ‘Drawing on the Future’, a two-volume book series documenting his design work for the underground rave and electronic music scene in Perth during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The collection features more than a decade of promotional ephemera, including flyers, posters, and logo mock-ups. The work highlights the typography, print techniques, and DIY culture that defined the era before the dominance of social media. Wright describes the archive as a historical record of how visual design both influenced and was influenced by the music and various sub-genres of the time.
