Simona Viola sets new Italian SF55 mile record

Simona Viola has set a new Italian record in the SF55 category for the mile. Competing in Meda, Viola completed the 1,609-meter distance in 5:40.84, narrowly surpassing the previous record of 5:41.00 set by Emanuela Massanel in 2021.

This achievement follows another milestone earlier in the day in Novi Ligure, where Viola also celebrated an SF60 mile record. Despite a demanding season that included winning gold in the 10,000-meter track event in Sulmona, Viola continues to compete at a high level in master athletics.
