Simone Ballack honors son Emilio on 5th death anniversary with Instagram tribute

On 5 August 2026, Simone Ballack posted a heartfelt Instagram message to mark five years since her son Emilio died in a quad accident on the family estate in Portugal. The post featured old family photos of her three sons—Emilio, Louis and Jordi—and included the words, “I love all my three children equally. No matter where they are, I miss you all. Your mum.”

She added the hashtag #healing after traveling to Portugal weeks before the anniversary, describing the country as “beautiful” yet “fateful.” The tribute received supportive comments, including one from fellow TV personality Claudia Effenberg. Simone’s ex‑husband, former footballer Michael Ballack, has spoken only sparingly about the loss, noting his coping process in a Sky documentary earlier in 2026. Earlier that year, Simone also recalled the tragedy on the German reality show “Dschungelcamp.”

Emilio, 18 at the time, died in August 2021 after his quad rolled backward down a slope on the Troia Peninsula, burying him beneath the vehicle. Simone continues to remember him on his birthday, Mother’s Day and the anniversary each year.
