Simone Biles kicks off Lima 2027 Pan American Games countdown in Peru

Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles arrived in Lima and immediately traveled to Cusco as part of a visit organized by Panam Sports and the Lima 2027 Organizing Committee. She toured the historic centre of Cusco and the Sacred Valley towns of Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, praising the country’s culture, scenery and hospitality.

On 6 August, Biles returned to Lima to serve as the guest of honour at the official one‑year‑to‑go countdown ceremony for the 2027 Pan American Games, held in Plaza Mayor. She activated the official countdown, joining Peruvian officials, athletes and the public in the celebration of the upcoming Games.
