Simone Forti, pioneering contemporary dance artist, dies at 91
American artist Simone Forti, born in Florence in 1935 and later based in Los Angeles, died at age 91 in Los Angeles. Forti was a key figure in bringing dance into contemporary art, creating a performative language that has shaped post‑modern choreography.
