Simone Inzaghi reflects on 22-year legacy at Lazio

Simone Inzaghi, currently managing Al Hilal, has expressed deep gratitude toward Lazio following his 22-year tenure as both a player and coach. In a recent interview with Il Messaggero, Inzaghi noted that the current Lazio squad shares technical and moral characteristics with the teams he previously led, specifically highlighting the importance of a cohesive group that remains focused despite external pressures.

Inzaghi reflected on pivotal moments, including a decisive 2-0 victory against Bologna that propelled the team to the top of the standings. He expressed lasting regret regarding how the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the momentum of that season, noting that the subsequent long suspension and injuries altered the course of the championship. While the Scudetto was not achieved, he maintains pride in the fantastic team he helped build.
