Simone Inzaghi rejected Napoli coaching offer this summer

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis personally attempted to recruit Simone Inzaghi to lead the club this past summer. According to reports from Fabrizio Biasin, De Laurentiis engaged Inzaghi in a two-hour telephone conversation to convince him to join the Neapolitan side, but the former Inter Milan coach ultimately declined the offer.

Inzaghi, who is currently managing Al-Hilal, was identified as the club's primary target for a more offensive and proactive tactical project. Following Inzaghi's refusal, Napoli pivoted to Massimiliano Allegri, a move that has drawn criticism due to the significant tactical differences between the two managers.

Despite a recent 6-0 victory over Al-Taawoun, Inzaghi remains under pressure at Al-Hilal. Supporters have expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance over the last season, despite significant investment in player acquisitions.
