Simone Rizzato, former football goalkeeper coach, dies at 47

Simone Rizzato, a 47-year-old former goalkeeper and respected goalkeeper coach in the Veneto football community, has died suddenly at his home in Padova.

According to his father, Renato, Rizzato had returned from Abano the previous evening reporting a fever and feeling unwell. After taking medication, he went to bed, but his agitated state prompted his father to stay in the room to monitor him. Around 4:00 AM, Renato discovered that Rizzato had stopped breathing and immediately called emergency services, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

While a sudden cardiac arrest is being considered as a possibility, a magistrate has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Rizzato was a well-known figure in local football, having progressed from a player to a specialized coach.
