Simone Romagnoli signs new contract with Empoli until 2027

Defender Simone Romagnoli, born 9 February 1990 in Cremona, has officially returned to Empoli Football Club. He signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2027, extending his long‑standing association with the Tuscan side.

Romagnoli previously played for Empoli in the 2015‑16 season and again from 2019 to 2022, making a total of 110 appearances. He helped the club achieve promotion to Serie A in 2020‑21 and secure survival the following season. After spells with Parma, Lecce, Frosinone and Sampdoria, he rejoined Empoli’s training group in January before the deal was confirmed.

Over his career Romagnoli has amassed more than 270 Serie B matches and over 100 Serie A games, featuring for clubs such as Cremonese, Milan (youth), Foggia, Pescara, Spezia, Carpi, Bologna and Brescia, and earning four top‑flight promotions with Pescara, Carpi, Brescia and Empoli.
