Simon’s Burger expands to Romania with flagship opening in Cluj-Napoca

Hungarian fast-food chain Simon’s Burger is expanding into the Romanian market, opening its first flagship restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. The new 200-square-meter location represents an investment of 500,000 euros and will serve as a laboratory to test pricing, operations, and consumer behavior for future growth.

To celebrate the opening, the company is offering free cheeseburgers to the first 1,000 customers, with one of the first 20 participants set to win a burger voucher valid for one year. The Romanian operations are managed by Simon’s Burger CJ SRL, a franchise holder controlled by StartUp HUB co-founders Grüman Róbert and Oltean Csongor.

Founder Tóth Simon stated that the company aims to establish a national network of 25 restaurants across major Romanian cities within the next five years. The brand, which currently operates 30 locations across three countries, intends to leverage lessons learned from previous expansions in Slovakia, Austria, and New York to scale its presence in Romania.
