Simunjan water supply to resume after pipe repair and tank deliveries

A pipe leak on Jalan Gedong–Simunjan disrupted water distribution to the Simunjan area after the Simunjan Water Treatment Plant could not operate fully from July 28 due to low intake levels. Residents have been receiving water from tanker trucks, with 16 water tanks borrowed from the Samarahan Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) in Kuching to meet demand.

Repair work on the leaking pipe was completed on the afternoon of 1 August, allowing treated water from the Serian Water Treatment Plant to flow continuously again. Assemblyman Awla Dris confirmed that the supply will be restored once the repairs are finished and thanked residents for their patience.
