SINAITSA reaches labor agreements with Tamaulipas authorities

Following protests in municipalities such as Reynosa and Victoria, the National Independent Union of Health Workers (SINAITSA) has reached agreements with state authorities in Tamaulipas. A follow-up committee has been established to address pending labor demands.

Key agreements include the formalization of detoxification periods, referred to as ‘risk vacations,’ to ensure medical care remains uninterrupted. Authorities also committed to the immediate distribution of uniforms that had been pending for months. Regarding compensation, officials acknowledged irregularities in overtime pay and committed to correcting them to ensure legal compliance, including double pay for workdays and triple pay for Sundays.

SINAITSA leader Omar García emphasized the need for transparency in monthly incentives and promotion processes to prevent favoritism. The union also noted that approximately 2,500 workers, including those transferred to IMSS Bienestar, have been affected by payment irregularities, which will be addressed through the new monitoring table.
