Sinaloa agricultural leader warns of policy risks to Mexican farming

Alfredo Rosales Gámez, president of the bean branch of the CNC in Sinaloa, has warned that agricultural policies pose a significant risk to production in Sinaloa and Mexico. He criticized the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER) for abruptly changing the rules regarding how federal support is distributed via Bienestar cards.

Rosales Gámez noted that producers have strictly followed operational rules and submitted required documentation, only to face new dependencies on the Bienestar Bank for collecting aid. He characterized the government's approach as insensitive to the needs of farmers.
