Sinaloa announces new agricultural credits and wheat subsidies
The Sinaloa state government and the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER) have announced new financial support measures for the region's agricultural sector.
Through the ‘Cosechando Soberanía’ program, FIRA (Fideicomiso Instituido con Relación a la Agricultura) will distribute credits for the 2026-2027 autumn-winter agricultural cycle. These credits, offered at a preferential interest rate of 8.5 percent, can reach up to 1.3 million pesos per producer. The initiative aims to increase profitability and reduce the economic burden caused by high interest rates in previous years.
Additionally, a 500 million peso investment has been allocated to support wheat producers. This measure provides a subsidy of 2,000 pesos per ton, intended to help producers reach a target price of 7,050 pesos per ton. Registration for this wheat support program is scheduled to open on August 20 and close on September 20.
