Sinaloa begins Bienpesca Estatal fund distribution for fishers

The Sinaloa Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture announced that the distribution of additional economic support through the Bienpesca Estatal program will begin on Friday, October 9. The initiative aims to benefit 31,561 fishers and aquaculturists in the state, with each recipient receiving a single payment of 4,000 pesos.

The program is a joint effort between the Sinaloa state government and the Mexican federal government. For the 2026 cycle, the total investment amounts to 126,244,000 pesos, split equally between both levels of government, with each contributing 63,122,000 pesos.

According to Flor Emilia Guerra Mena, the Secretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, these funds are intended to help beneficiaries purchase essential supplies, including tools, fishing gear, fuel, and equipment. This support is designed to strengthen the local economy and ensure the continuity of productive activities within fishing communities.
