Sinaloa Congress approves draft law for LGBTTTIQNB+ rights
The Sinaloa State Congress has approved a draft decree for the Law for the Recognition, Protection, and Care of LGBTTTIQNB+, Sexual Diversity, and Gender Persons in the State of Sinaloa. The initiative, authored by Almendra Negrete and promoted by deputies Juana Minerva Vázquez González and Karla Daniela Ulloa Rodríguez, aims to place Sinaloa at the legislative forefront of the country.
If enacted, the law would require governors to include the creation and implementation of a state program for the recognition and protection of the LGBTTTIQNB+ community within the State Development Plan. Additionally, the legislation mandates that state authorities allocate sufficient resources in the annual Income and Expenditure Budget to support these initiatives and ensure inter-institutional cooperation across the three branches of government.
