Sinaloa educational initiatives launch to prevent sexual and family violence

Educational institutions in Sinaloa, Mexico, are launching new initiatives to combat various forms of violence. In Camargo, the ‘Colores del Alma’ project has commenced, funded by the Fideicomiso para la Competitividad y Seguridad Ciudadana (FICOSEC). The program focuses on strengthening tools for the prevention, detection, and management of sexual violence against children and adolescents. Initial training has been provided to teachers at Escuela Primaria 2040 regarding legal protocols, conflict mediation, and protection measures. The project also includes workshops for students on self-care and abuse prevention, as well as psychological support for victims and their families.

Simultaneously, in Badiraguato, the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Sinaloa (COBAES) has initiated a series of conferences titled ‘Detection, Orientation, and Channeling of Family Violence.’ This program aims to foster cooperation between schools and homes to address domestic violence. Led by COBAES Director General Santiago Inzunza Cázares and the Secretary of Women of Sinaloa, Brenda Rocío García Félix, the initiative emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in identifying behavioral changes and maintaining open communication to protect students from evolving social and domestic risks.
