Nuevo Laredo officials inaugurate 597 million peso infrastructure projects
Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Nuevo Laredo Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal have inaugurated three major infrastructure projects in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, totaling over 597 million pesos.
The projects include the Beatriz Anaya de Villarreal elementary school in the El Progreso neighborhood, which serves approximately 390 students; the Libramiento Mex II western body vehicular bridge, designed to improve logistics and freight transport; and the Science, Technology, and Planetarium Museum. The museum, built using a repurposed elevated water tank, represents an investment of 277.5 million pesos and aims to promote scientific innovation and education.
These works are part of a broader economic and developmental push in Tamaulipas, which has seen significant federal investment in sectors such as social housing, energy, and transportation. The state has recently been noted for leading national business development growth.
