Sinaloa joins National Meetings Industry Congress in Querétaro

The state of Sinaloa is participating in the National Congress of the Meetings Industry (CNIR) held in Querétaro, Mexico. The event brings together more than 800 specialists, including meeting planners and professional congress organizers, to promote networking, professionalization, and competitiveness within the sector.

Representing the Sinaloa Secretariat of Tourism, Melissa Carrillo, Director of the Special Projects Unit, noted that the state aims to use the congress to diversify its economy. By positioning Sinaloa as a competitive destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), the state seeks to move beyond traditional sun and beach tourism. Officials highlighted that business travelers typically generate significantly higher average spending per visitor than conventional tourists.
