Sinaloa implements digital device regulations in schools
The Sinaloa Secretariat of Public Education and Culture (SEPyC) is finalizing a state protocol to regulate the use of digital devices in schools, effective November 3. The initiative, aligned with federal guidelines, aims to protect the physical and mental health of students by mitigating risks such as cyberbullying and exposure to inappropriate content.
The new guidelines mandate a total restriction of cell phone use in basic education during school hours. In upper secondary education, the policy will promote responsible use through limitations established by individual institutions. SEPyC officials stated the goal is to balance pedagogical benefits and academic research with the need for safe digital and school environments.
In related social welfare news, the Sinaloa DIF system is conducting training for social workers in agricultural fields to protect the rights of migrant children and prevent child labor. Additionally, the system is expanding a water storage project to provide water tanks to 159 families across 12 vulnerable communities to combat water scarcity.
