Sinaloa Morena candidates call for vetting and criticize past administrations

Candidates for the State Coordination of Defense of the Transformation in Sinaloa are facing scrutiny regarding their backgrounds and political history. Legislator Jesús Ibarra Ramos has called for Morena to conduct an exhaustive review of the 13 aspirants seeking the position. Ibarra Ramos suggested that the party should analyze not only their political and professional trajectories but also their assets, tax status, and potential conflicts of interest to ensure a thoroughly vetted selection for the 2027 electoral process.

In a separate critique, candidate Rodolfo Valenzuela has attacked the previous administration of Mario López Valdez, labeling it as one of the most corrupt and violent periods in Sinaloa's history. Valenzuela alleged that the administration was characterized by political betrayal and the irregular management of public resources in sectors such as health, tourism, and public works. He argued that individuals associated with that administration should not be considered viable political alternatives for the state.
