Sinaloa: Three women killed in separate shootings

Three women were killed in separate shooting attacks in the southern Sinaloa municipalities of Escuinapa and Mazatlán this Wednesday. These incidents bring the total number of violent deaths of women in the region to 20 for the month of August.

In Escuinapa, authorities discovered the body of a young woman in a vacant lot in the Insurgentes neighborhood. The victim showed signs of violence and gunshot wounds. In Mazatlán, two women were found dead inside a residence in the Pradera Dorada Dos subdivision, also showing signs of violence and gunshot wounds. Additionally, a woman was identified as Casandra Guada after neighbors reported automatic weapon fire in the Villa Unión district.

These attacks follow recent femicides in Culiacán and Mazatlán, including the shooting of 25-year-old Marisol in a residential area by individuals on a motorcycle.
