Sinaloa to finalize evaluation of five Pueblos Mágicos in October

The Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism is entering the final stages of a federal strengthening process for the state’s five ‘Pueblos Mágicos’. Celia Jáuregui Ibarra, the subsecretary of Planning, Investment, and Tourism Development, announced that the final evaluations and observations required to maintain this federal distinction will be delivered in late October.

The five designated towns are El Fuerte, Mocorito, Cosalá, San Ignacio, and El Rosario. This evaluation cycle, which began in 2025, marks the end of the current program, as federal authorities intend to transition to new distinctions with different focuses rather than issuing new ‘Pueblos Mágicos’ designations.

Additionally, the state government is working on the ‘Pueblos Señoriales’ program, which currently includes thirteen locations, with goals to expand the initiative through upcoming calls for participation.
