Sincan hosts inaugural Oil Wrestling Festival
Sincan Municipality hosted its first annual Oil Wrestling Festival at Sincan Park. The event was organized in collaboration with Sincan Belediyespor and the Turkish Wrestling Federation.
Over 500 wrestlers participated in the competition, including 26 head wrestlers (başpehlivan). The roster featured athletes who have recently competed in major tournaments such as the Kırkpınar and Presidential Head Wrestler competitions. The festival aimed to preserve traditional Turkish wrestling culture and encourage youth participation in the sport.
Sincan Mayor Murat Ercan expressed the municipality's goal to establish the festival as a recurring tradition. Following the matches, cash prizes were awarded to the successful competitors.
