Sindh Emergency Council approves salary hike for Rescue 1122
The Sindh Emergency Council, chaired by Advisor to the Chief Minister Gyan Chand Esrani, has approved a 7 percent salary increase for Rescue 1122 employees. Additionally, the council granted a one-year contract extension for all contract staff.
During the sixth meeting, the council also approved a 30 million rupee package for the martyrs of the service. Discussions regarding health insurance and pensions for rescue workers will be referred to the provincial cabinet following final consultations, while requests for new allowances will be directed to the Sindh Finance Department.
Brigadier (Retd) Wajid Sabghatullah Mehr, Director General of Rescue 1122, provided a briefing noting that the organization has provided medical assistance to over 1.33 million people and saved 5,238 lives since its inception. The service currently manages over 10,000 daily calls using 149 vehicles and 1,723 personnel.
